I have a good excuse for not blogging… I’ve Been Sewing!
As you can see I have made a start! I must say the center has gone really well, lots of nice points… but I am finding the pattern very frustrating. I wished I would have used my own method for all the flying geese in the next section!
I’m really frustrated!!! My seams are perfect but something with the method has caused my sizes to be different.
Other than the size triangles to cut this is as much information as the pattern provides! It is becoming increasingly clear to me that this is NOT for the beginner or the faint hearted! =:( For my own sanity, I think I am just going to have to rework the methods to be much more simpler and accurate!
On a positive note… Have a look at the awesome sunset we had tonight! My camera batteries were dead but thankfully there was just enough power left in my daughters camera to catch these photos from our garden! Amazing!

I usually have a few quilt projects going at a time. I do have a few UFO’s I’ll admit to later… but thought I would share my current ambitions and leave that for a later post/challenge!
I recently purchased the pattern for Pieceful Nights, which is also a Block of the Month quilt from Lori Smith of From my heart to your hands. While in the States this past summer I picked up the pattern and coordinated some beautiful fabric for the quilt. My sister also liked the quilt so I will be making two of these!
I will try and post my fabric and centre block soon. This pattern is a bit challenging for me! It has some strange measurements in 15/16ths and inset borders, but I will no doubt overcome these challenges and hopefully expand my sewing skills!
My other project is still in the collection/aquiring stage! I love this part of quilting, it involves shopping (my favorite pastime) in search for fabric and materials needed to get started! I am struggling to find cream felt off the bolt here in the UK but hope to get this sorted soon as I would like to finish it in time for Christmas! For my step-daughters son Brendan! He loves fabric books and I found this cute little ABC book pattern which I am looking forward to making this cute little book although I am NOT impressed with the pattern and expect I will be doing lots of improvising for this one!

I guess it is official! Today I have entered the world of Blogging!
I’m sure this is going to be a real adventure! My aim is to try and do something ”quilty” at least one hour a day and creating this blog is to help keep me focused and accountable. I love quilting and although I’ve only been quilting for a few short years I have managed to achieve a few accomplishments to which I am very proud! Maybe some of what I share will be interesting to others, I would certainly enjoy sharing and getting to know other quilters.
Well here is to New Beginnings!
